Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry says he has no concerns about the potential environmental impact of SpaceX’s planned launch facility along the state’s Gulf Coast, arguing the project will bring jobs and help fund coastal restoration. “I’m not concerned about the environmental impact,” Landry (R-LA) told CBS News when asked about SpaceX’s environmental record at its Texas launch site. Landry called the project “the greatest marriage that Louisiana has ever had,” saying it will combine “coastal restoration, hurricane protection with great economic opportunity.”
