Maratha quota leader Manoj Jarange Patil has called off his 20-day hunger strike and put his planned protest at Mumbai’s Azad Maidan on hold after Maharashtra government representatives handed him a draft outlining steps on his demands. Cabinet minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, Maratha sub-committee chief, along with Dadaji Bhuse, Prasad Lad and others met Jarange in Beed’s Patoda and sought 90 days to fulfil the protesters’ demands. Jarange has demanded implementation of the Hyderabad and Satara gazettes to facilitate Kunbi certificates for Marathas.
