Five Halloween songs re-enter this week’s #Hot100# chart, thanks to annual gains on Oct. 31. 📈🎃👻 Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” returns to No. 20, marking the seventh consecutive year that the song has re-entered the chart. Ray Parker Jr.’s “Ghostbusters” re-enters at No. 28, becoming its highest ranking since 1984. Plus, “Monster Mash,” “This Is Halloween” and “Somebody’s Watching Me” return at Nos. 30, 38 and 50, respectively.

.@sza's ‘SOS’ has now spent 38 total weeks at No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, breaking the all-time record as the longest-leading No. 1 album in the chart’s 60-year history. 📈 The album surpasses Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller,’ which spent 37 weeks at No. 1 in 1983-84.

The same artist who gave us “Baby Be Mine” in 1982 gave us “In the Closet” nine years later. Michael Jackson’s evolution was something else. Few artists could move from the polished post-disco grooves of Thriller to the New Jack Swing sensuality of Dangerous and make both sound completely natural.
