Qingdao Cruise Terminal in east China's Shandong Province has kicked off its summer cruise season with the launch of a large cruise ship’s round-trip service between Qingdao and South Korea. Since China introduced its visa-free policy for foreign tourist groups arriving by cruise ship, Qingdao has handled more than 70 international cruise calls and over 100,000 inbound and outbound passenger trips, according to official data.

A container ship departed Qingdao Port in east China's Shandong Province for Melbourne and Sydney, Australia, on Wednesday after loading more than 1,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of cargo, including home appliances and tires. Since the beginning of this year, Qingdao Port has added 16 new container shipping routes, extending its global network to nearly 240 routes connecting more than 700 ports worldwide.
