Quantum has entered the era of semiconductor engineering. Scaling quantum to fault-tolerance is no longer a scientific hurdle, it’s an engineering and manufacturing challenge. Due to its speed and agility, SkyWater Technology, more than any other foundry, provides highly unique capabilities suited to quantum engineering in this era. 🔸 Its cycles for fabricating 256-qubit wafers are 3x faster 🔸 It’s delivering 12x more wafer lots every 6 months for IonQ 🔸 It has 5 prototypes in parallel production 🔸 It expects over 100 learning cycles per year IonQ and SkyWater: Better together. These are highly tangible examples of how Skywater has accelerated IonQ’s manufacturing speed and throughput. Over the past five years IonQ has expanded our business from leadership in quantum computing to become the world’s leading quantum platform solution and merchant supplier. We have been an innovator at every stage. As we evolved, we grew our revenue, capabilities, and now engineering solutions—opening growth opportunities across every part of the platform. We are uniquely positioned as the only company that delivers a full suite of quantum products: our computing, networking, sensing, and security solutions are each industry-leading. With SkyWater Technology now closed, IonQ is the only vertically integrated, full-stack quantum platform and the largest merchant supplier to the U.S. and allied quantum ecosystem. SkyWater provides a capital-light way to scale, with proven U.S.-based fabricators bringing critical chip capacity onshore at a moment when moving onshore matters more than ever. This is reflected in our updated full-year 2026 guidance of $450 million to $460 million, which highlights both the market traction of our quantum platform and the foundational manufacturing scale provided by SkyWater. burh.. - IonQ ($IONQ) announced a multi-year strategic collaboration with Korean quantum technology and software company SDT Inc., under which IonQ plans to supply SDT with a Superion 256 quantum computer and a silicon-vacancy (SiV) quantum memory module. - The partnership expands their relationship from cloud-based software integration into physical hardware production, assembly, system integration, and regional resale in Korea and Asia. - SDT plans to establish a dedicated quantum manufacturing and system-integration facility in Gumi, South Korea, where SiV quantum memory packaging and manufacturing, quantum system assembly, integration, and commissioning are expected to take place. - $IONQ described the agreement as another example of growing global demand for Superion 256 while emphasizing its broader strategy of combining quantum computing with quantum networking and quantum memory. - The announcement did not disclose the contract value or a specific delivery timeline. > The interesting part is that this is not simply a sale of a quantum computer into Korea. $IONQ is increasingly positioning computing, networking, and memory as an integrated system while establishing part of the manufacturing, packaging, and system-integration footprint in Korea. > If the planned SiV quantum memory packaging and manufacturing operation in Gumi is executed as described, it could suggest that Korea may become more than an end market for $IONQ and develop into part of its Asia-Pacific quantum hardware supply chain and system-integration infrastructure.
