Jelly Roll spent a week on Jimmy Kimmel Live! taking shots at Trump, then used Thursday’s monologue to explain that he is actually in the middle. That is not courage. That is cleanup. He built a career on the same audience he just treated like a punchline. Then he discovered half the country noticed. So he reached for the safest speech in entertainment: I lean a little left, I hunt, I go to church, a handshake is not an endorsement, please still buy the tickets. If the jokes were his, own them. If they were a rental from Kimmel’s writers, say that. What he did instead was insult a sitting president for applause, then hide behind “down the middle” when the receipts came in. You do not get to mock half the country on Monday and lecture them about dignity on Thursday. That is not independent. That is a man reading the room after the room already clapped. Country music fans are not props. Neither is a handshake with the president. Pick a lane or stop pretending the backlash is the mystery.

My opinion of Jelly Roll just fell again. I saw that on Thursday he cried about dignity and tried to sound like the peacemaker after he had on Monday called Trump a fat pig. Jelly Roll should’ve just owned his joke. Crying is not an undo button. The fan base he insulted was already gone. The tears did not bring them back. Crying made him look like a man who wanted the cheap laugh and then regretted the fallout. If he wanted to mock Trump, fine. Do it knowing fans will leave. If he had also aimed at Biden or another prominent Democrat, the Trump hit might have landed as equal-opportunity. But he only punched one side, then didn’t like the result. Jelly Roll is scrambling now because he does not seem to know who he wants to be. That is how you get stuck on both sides of the fence. Pick a side. People admire conviction more than perpetual second-guessing. I lost a lot of my liberal friends in advertising when I came out as a Trump supporter. I never doubted the call. I never tried to keep quiet to keep “friends.” It’s fine to change your mind when the facts change. But it’s not fine to backtrack just to keep a crowd that’s not worth keeping. Do that and you lose the crowd and your own self-respect. Don’t be like Jelly Roll. Be yourself. That is what people actually admire. It is also how Trump won the presidency twice.

Only 5% of asylum seekers are ever deported anyway. What’s more, nearly 1,000 failed asylum seekers with CRIMINAL CONVICTIONS are living here in taxpayer funded accommodation. Reform will turn this sick equation on its head. We will deploy the Royal Navy to the Channel, deport EVERYONE who broke into this country, no matter their asylum status, and crack down on companies employing illegals with fines and prison sentences. We will make Britain the toughest country IN THE WORLD to be an illegal migrant. Until there is not a single one left in Britain.
