"The well-being of the individual and of human and Christian society is intimately linked with the healthy condition of that community produced by marriage and family” (Gaudium et spes, 47). The Church is well aware of this, as shown by the pastoral concern of the Popes who have succeeded one another since the last Council, right up to the two Synodal Assemblies convened by Pope Francis, which were addressed again in recent days by the Heads of the Eastern Catholic Churches and the Presidents of the Bishops' Conferences. #

The first mission of the Church is to help people be attentive to the profound questions of life: those concerning our origin and our destiny, as well as those concerning the meaning of love and suffering. The logic of profit at all costs and the manipulation of information risk exerting undue pressure on people to conform to a lifestyle centred on the consumption of material goods, but our hearts are made to look upwards. #

The Third Secret of Fatima, which the Church kept hidden from the public eye for 83 years, was finally published in 2000 in a polished and diluted form.
Everyone is forgetting that the Marian apparition at Fatima, in July 1917, warned that Russia would spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars, and that various nations would be annihilated. Within months, Lenin seized power. In 2022, a month after the invasion of Ukraine, the Pope consecrated Russia to Mary by name, the very act she had asked for to stop it.
The version that surfaced in 1963 goes much further: God punishing humanity far worse than the Flood. Fire and smoke will fall from the sky, the waters of the oceans will turn to steam, and millions will die from one hour to the next. The great and powerful will perish alongside the weak, and those who survive will envy the dead.
In my view, this is not only a prophecy of war. It describes the Geophysical Event: the crust shifting, the magnetic field dropping, the climate turning violent, and humanity reduced to a handful of survivors. The Flood was the last one. This one will be worse.
Today Russia is at war, the oceans hold more heat than ever recorded, and a weak spot in Earth's magnetic field has grown by nearly half the size of Europe since 2014.

The church is a sacred place of worship, it's not a venue to showoff your assets, gym goals, or club inspired outfits.
Behave yourself.
The enormous doors were pushed shut, the clanking bolts secured from the outside and several clergy, pilgrims and one journalist — me — were locked for the night inside one of Christianity’s holiest sites in Jerusalem. The Church of the Holy Sepulcher was built over the spots where Christians believe Jesus was crucified, buried and rose from the dead.

The Bolsheviks declared war on the Russian Orthodox Church as soon as they seized power.
They stripped it of legal status and property, then executed thousands of priests, monks, and believers in the Red Terror.
Metropolitan Vladimir of Kiev was dragged from the Monastery of the Caves, tortured, and shot in January 1918.
Patriarch Tikhon publicly excommunicated the Bolshevik leadership and spent his remaining years under arrest until his death in 1925.
In 1922, while the country starved, the Soviets seized church gold and jewels under the pretext of famine relief.
When believers in Shuya tried to stop them, troops opened fire on the crowd.
Lenin then issued a secret memo ordering the most merciless suppression of the clergy possible, arguing conditions would never again be so favorable for crushing the Church’s influence for decades.
By year’s end thousands of clergy had been shot and a 1000 year old institution was driven underground by the regime that claimed to liberate the peasants who built it.

The Archbishop of Canterbury visited Africa last week. Do you think it was to visit the sites of Islamist atrocities against Christians, or to offer support and succour to the Christians targeted in these attacks?
No. It was to prostrate herself in front of Africans and offer £100 million of church funds (that are much needed by British parishioners) to Africans as compensation for slavery. This is despite the fact that the neither the slaves nor the slavers are alive, Britain spent lots of money and lost lots of lives banning slavery, and Ghana still has 90,000 slaves.
Meanwhile, in this country the church does everything it can to subsume itself and make way for Islam, even putting Islamic prayer spaces inside its churches. At least when this happened in Andalusia, it was done as conquest, not voluntarily.
And if anyone promotes a more robust, authentic Christianity, they're condemned as bigots.
What happened to the church? What happened to bearded men on horseback carrying swords and shields, travelling to the Middle East to uphold Christianity, defend its borders and prevent the spread of Islam to Europe? Why does every institution now have to be run by soggy arsed leftists?
I sense a great reckoning coming down the pipes. Our institutions have been eroded from within. They're still standing, but the beams are full of worms.

On the night of August 1, russians burned eight million books – among them 600,000 school textbooks, weeks before children return to class.
This was not the first time.
In July alone, russian strikes destroyed more than 1.5 million Ukrainian books. On July 2, a warehouse holding BookChef’s inventory in Kyiv burned with 800,000 books inside. On July 19, a ballistic missile hit the Konvi printing plant in Kyiv – one of the three largest in Ukraine – destroying a quarter of a million ninth-grade textbooks packed and ready to ship to schools. The same night, a Knyholav warehouse was destroyed with another 250,000 books. In May 2024, a missile hit Faktor Druk in Kharkiv, the country’s largest printing house, killing seven workers and wounding twenty-one.
In occupied territory the work is done by hand. In June 2022, the entire library of the Petro Mohyla church in Mariupol was confiscated and burned in the church courtyard. Months later, occupiers threw Ukrainian books out of the windows of the Pryazovskyi State Technical University library and carted them off for disposal. The director of Mariupol’s central library says every Ukrainian-language book in the city was destroyed. Witnesses describe Shevchenko’s Kobzar tossed into a fire.
The pattern is what matters here. Wherever russia occupies Ukrainian land, it strips the Ukrainian language out of schools, replaces Ukrainian curricula with russian propaganda, empties the libraries and pulls down cultural symbols. It is a continuation of centuries of russification.
Book burning has always exposed what a regime is afraid of. Tyrants fear words, ideas, history and national memory as much as they fear weapons.
Every Ukrainian book russia burns is another reminder of why Ukraine’s resistance matters. This war is not only about territory. It is about whether an entire nation has the right to keep its language, its culture, its memory and its identity.
