B&P TUNNEL PROJECT ADVANCES Amtrak announced major construction progress on its B&P Tunnel Replacement Program, including tunnel boring machine production and key infrastructure work, while identifying design optimizations to reduce costs and improve efficiency. The project, targeted for completion in 2036, will replace the 153-year-old rail bottleneck, improving safety, reliability, and capacity along the Northeast Corridor. TAP PRIVATIZATION BIDS Lufthansa and Air France-KLM submitted binding offers for a minority stake of up to 49.9% in Portugal's state-owned TAP, advancing the airline's privatization process. Capacity from the canceled New Zealand route will be redeployed to increase Honolulu–Las Vegas flights as the airline continues optimizing its post-merger network. FRONTIER EXPANDS AFTER SPIRIT EXIT $ULCC will launch four new routes beginning in November and December, including services previously operated by Spirit Airlines, as it expands into markets left vacant by its rival’s collapse. The carrier is also rolling out Starlink Wi-Fi across its fleet, enhancing its competitive position while pursuing disciplined network growth. EXPEDIA, ALLEGIANT FORM EXCLUSIVE BOOKING PARTNERSHIP $EXPE signed a 12-month exclusive agreement to become the first authorized online travel agency for $ALGT, adding Allegiant’s 566-route network across 124 U.S. cities. The deal gives Expedia full coverage of all U.S. commercial airlines while expanding Allegiant’s distribution and access to leisure travelers.
