The season had server problems and Blizzard left players a message apologizing for the “unexpected issues” and thanking them for “standing with us.” Some players are also receiving a free Resplendent Spark, one of the rarest crafting materials in the game

Blizzard is handing Diablo 4 players one Resplendent Spark after a messy Season 15 launch, with a short in-game note that says sorry and thanks people for “standing with us.” Season of Hell’s Legacy was meant to open September 15, 2026 as the series’ 30th anniversary season. Login errors delayed it the same day. After it went live, Solo Self-Found stayed down and Tree of Whispers caches failed to pay out for a stretch. The Spark arrives through the new Horadric Post in town. One Spark is the rare Mythic-crafting material you usually get by salvaging a Mythic Unique or grinding season ranks. Blacksmith Mythic crafts still cost two. It does not fix the week players lost. It does put a scarce currency in every mailbox. Check the mail icon before you burn another Unique in the Cube.

Blizzard’s lawsuit against the developers behind the Ascension World of Warcraft private server is still ongoing. The developers have filed a counter-notice asking the court for more time to respond to Blizzard’s claims, which could delay the case. At the same time, they are still releasing new updates and content for the server. Blizzard says the private server breaks its copyrights and trademarks, violates the DMCA, and includes other illegal activities. The company wants the server shut down and is seeking financial damages.

Blizzard is handing over Overwatch’s PC publishing rights in South Korea to Nexon, with the change taking effect on August 12. From that date, Nexon will manage the game’s live service in South Korea, including player support, local events, and regional content. Blizzard will continue developing Overwatch and will retain full ownership of the game and its IP. Nexon CEO Junghun Lee said the company has been working closely with Blizzard and wants to deliver “best-in-class live operations and hyperlocalization” for Korean players. He also said the partnership is about “creating the best possible Overwatch experience” in South Korea.

Blizzard almost gave Overwatch’s new combo-heavy hero Shion a Devil May Cry-style ranking system, but the idea was eventually scrapped. Lead hero designer Scott Kennedy said the team experimented with “a style meter and style rankings” similar to Devil May Cry but decided against it because “we didn’t want players to feel like they had to optimize for style points.” Instead, Blizzard wanted players to focus on “making smart decisions” and using Shion’s abilities effectively rather than chasing high combo grades. Blizzard is getting backlash from “The usual suspects.” They/them have started to complain about the design of the new Overwatch hero Shion, saying they made her breasts too large and feminine. “We don't need to be objectified to sell your skins, Blizzard.” Blizzard and other studios will see this and still try to pander to these people.

Blizzard has filed a lawsuit against Project Ascension, one of the largest custom World of Warcraft private servers. Blizzard claims that Project Ascension uses World of Warcraft content without permission and profits from it through donations and premium features. The company also accuses the server of bypassing Blizzard’s protections, violating U.S. copyright law. Project Ascension is known for major changes to the game, including a classless system and other custom features that have made it popular with players. Project Ascension has not yet had its day in court and will have a chance to respond, but we know how this will end..
