Starlink V3 is coming — and it changes everything. Each new satellite will deliver around 1 Tbps of downlink capacity and 160 Gbps of uplink — roughly 10x and 22x more than the current generation. Combined with lower orbits and Starship launches, this means: • Far more users supported • Multi-gigabit speeds becoming realistic • Significantly lower latency • A network built for the AI and high-bandwidth future This is not just an upgrade. It’s the foundation for the next decade of global connectivity.

Starlink V3 is a massive leap forward Each V3 satellite is designed to support: • 1 Tbps downlink • 160 Gbps uplink That is roughly: • 10x more downlink capacity than V2 • 22x more uplink capacity than V2 But the real magic is in the antennas and chips Starlink V3 supports 2,048 downlink and uplink beams, compared with just 192 downlink and 144 uplink beams on V2 Backhaul uplink supports 60 GHz of spectrum across frequencies and polarizations (4.3× more than V2) That means far more users can be served at the same time, with beams dynamically adapting to demand in both dense cities and remote regions SpaceX-developed beamformer and modem chips are doing the heavy lifting, with upgraded chips supporting around 64x more throughput per modem chip V3 technology will support future Starlink Mobile Gen 2 satellites, delivering terrestrial-like LTE speeds directly to unmodified smartphones This is Starlink becoming a planet-scale internet infrastructure layer

Starlink V3 satellites are designed to deliver up to 1 terabyte per second of downlink and 160 gigabytes per second of uplink. That’s insane. 🤯

Starlink Mini 2 is finally entering production, with a built-in battery now confirmed. The current hardware revision is mini2_prod1. The new terminal is slightly smaller than the original Starlink Mini. Its panel PCB measures 225 × 273 mm, compared with 236 × 276 mm for Mini 1. Average EIRP is also slightly lower: 27.4 dBW, compared with 27.57 dBW. The transmit duty cycle has been reduced significantly, from 75% to 11%, which will result in lower uplink speeds. This limitation is most likely driven by the terminal’s power budget. The terminal includes a built-in 4S lithium battery managed by a BQ40Z-series BMS. Battery capacity is currently unknown. Charging is provided via a USB-C Power Delivery port, supporting an input range of 11–24 V. The MAC thermal thresholds have been increased to 95°C and 99°C, compared with 79°C and 83°C on Mini 1. The battery thermal shutdown threshold is set to 80°C. GPS - present. Explicitly configured for in-motion use. The SoC is the same "Catapult". #starlink# #starlinkmini2#
