Zoox (owned by Amazon) will officially begin its first ever paid robotaxi rides in Las Vegas next Monday. They will start charging passengers with pricing similar to the "comfort" tier offered by other ride-hailing companies, which typically offers newer, roomier vehicles at fares about 20%-40% higher than standard ride-hailing services.

AMAZON’S ZOOX CAN EXPAND BEYOND 100 ROBOTAXIS IN NEVADA STARTING SEPT. 25 A regulatory cap limiting Zoox to 100 vehicles expires next week, giving the $AMZN - owned company room to scale its paid Las Vegas service. Zoox currently operates about 100 custom robotaxis across four U.S. cities, with most in Las Vegas and San Francisco. Las Vegas is still its only market where riders are charged. The company already has a federal exemption allowing deployment of up to 2,500 of its steering-wheel-free vehicles per year for the next two years. Competition is also picking up: Waymo recently launched commercially in Las Vegas, while Tesla and Uber have secured permits there.
