That is the story in one sentence: Minnesota tried to boss Texas around and got shut down. Castro was arrested in Cameron County on a Minnesota warrant. Walz sent the extradition request. When Abbott did not rubber-stamp it, Walz and Keith Ellison ran to federal court. Abbott’s answer was simple. He does not trust Tim Walz, and Minnesota can repay American taxpayers for the massive fraud that happened under Walz before it starts issuing demands to Texas. That fraud is not a talking point. It is the reason Walz dropped his reelection bid. Billions in state and federal programs were looted while his administration looked the other way. Now the same governor wants Texas to hop when he says jump. Texas is not Minnesota. Abbott is not going to be lectured by a governor whose state became a national punchline for welfare theft and then tried to turn an ICE case into a political trophy.
