Pseudo-feminism is one of the most damaging distortions of genuine human relationships, often casting suspicion over even the purest bonds between male and female. A healthy father-daughter relationship is among the purest of human bonds. If a father cuddles his 5- or 6-year-old daughter, please don’t project sexuality onto that innocent affection. The issue isn’t the relationship,it’s the lens through which some people choose to view it. If your perspective is shaped by painful personal experiences with your own father, I genuinely sympathize and am sorry for what you may have endured. But those experiences should not be used to sexualize or misinterpret the love and affection shared between a caring father and his daughter.
