BND does a much better job of being actual hopecore than Superman 25 because they properly explore the main character's internal conflict and don't sideline it for the entire second act, and they don't need to deliver a marketable t-shirt line to emotionally manipulate people

The action in Spidey Brand New Day was good but lowkey I was expecting a liiiitle more considering the talent involved (Jackie Chan's stunt team + Chris Cowan)
One specific gripe too with the (otherwise still awesome) ninja fight but it gets into spoiler territory, flip to read

RLLY FUN but no true stand out moment to make me fully love it.
Also found Cowan's action to be a bit underwhelming. Needed more grounded choreo to supplement it's big pose moments.

Thrilled that people are going to the movies, not so thrilled that it feels like many of them are massive losers incapable of sitting silently without a second screen for a few hours
LA Confidential has one of the best staged, best photographed, and best edited shootouts. This thing was tightly wound, sharply executed, feels human and brutal but never loses its grace.
