No matter what effect you belive human activity has on the climate, no-one thinks the high temperatures are caused by a lack of heat pumps in the Midlands or that it would have been worse if Port Talbot was still operating or we burned our own North Sea oil instead of Norway's. Britain commuting ritual economic suicide while the world is watching in disbelief is not going to make our summers cooler.
