Lorenzo Salgado Araujo lived in this country for the last 35 years. He was a father of three, a husband, and a beloved member of his community who worked in construction and put his kids through college. He spent his life building his community from the ground up and dreamt of one day building a home of his own.
Instead, Lorenzo was brutally murdered by ICE this week, while they were in pursuit of someone else. Another neighbor and loved one targeted and reduced to a headline. Time and time again, we have said that ICE's terror is making us less safe. This is an important reminder of why we must abolish ICE altogether. How many more people will be killed or kidnapped by ICE before they are held accountable?
