Icelanders have narrowly voted against restarting accession talks with the European Union:
โ 52.5% voted against resuming negotiations

47.5% voted in favour
๐ A narrow 5 point majority for the โNoโ side.
๐ช๐บ What does this mean?
Icelandโs EU accession talks, suspended since 2013, will remain frozen. Reykjavรญk voted clearly in favour of restarting negotiations, while rural constituencies strongly backed the โNoโ side.
Iceland will remain closely integrated with the EU through the European Economic Area and Schengen.
