It’s an acquittal with possible confinement. She could go home that day. The judge can order her to be held in a mental health facility for up to 20 days for observation and an examination. The DA and relevant hospital staff must petition the court for involuntary commitment. The judge will have to determine two things before ordering the confinement: the person has a mental illness and they will be a threat to themselves or others should they be released.
