Despite looming threat of US sanctions, India's appetite for Russian crude remained stable.
Data from Kpler commodities tells us that when US sanctions did hit in December 2025-January 2026 , Russian crude imports to India didn't stop - they simply shifted to a "shadow fleet."
India quietly maintaining a steady baseline of over 1 million barell per day under the radar, which has now skyrocketed to over 2 million barell per day.
