> Imagine being delelu Congress. Turn Save the Constitution into the central political message after reaching to 99 Lok Sabha seats in 2024. Spend the three years doubling down on the same politics. Assembly verdict arrives. 193 MLAs across the comparable election cycle (2019-21). 186 MLAs across the same window (2024-26) out of 2100 Seats. Net result: -7 seats. Meanwhile BJP goes from 463 to 796. BJP+ goes from 675 to 1,297. Same election cycle. Same electorate. Opposite trajectory. If the strategy works, why are the numbers moving backwards? Congress allies also shrink from 557 to 441 seats. The alliance narrative grows louder. The people chose to reject them even harder. Since 2014, Congress has not returned to power after completing a full five-year term in any state it governed. BJP, meanwhile, yet to lose any incumbent state since 2023. Try More confrontation. Get More polarization. BJP's base consolidates instead of fragmenting. Opposition discovers negative partisanship cuts both ways. 2024 was a fluke. By the time they realise this shit isn't working, it'll be too late.

Five years apart. Same electoral cycle. Nearly half of India's Assembly seats. Compare the Lok Sabha election year and the two years that follow, and the trend is clear. The BJP and the NDA have nearly doubled their legislative presence since the 2019 cycle. The Congress-led alliance, meanwhile, has continued to lose ground.
