A public governor at this NHS Trust has been challenging its policies for 18 months - arguing they place female staff and patients at risk.
He even reported the trust to the EHRC - and recently publicly opposed the reappointment of the Trust's chair.
But nothing, it seemed, could spur this Trust into action.

Quite extraordinary to see this right of reply request from a Guardian journalist.
A right of reply is supposed to give the subject of an article a fair opportunity to respond to the key allegations or evidence before publication.
This request appears to do something rather different. Rather than simply setting out the issues to be answered, it seems to adopt an ideological position within the request itself.
Whatever your views on the subject matter, this falls short of basic standards of ethical journalism.
