The strike on Ulyanovsk's Iskra plant is a direct hit on a rare remaining node in moscovia's military electronics chain that cannot be replaced by smuggling or Chinese gray-market chips. Over ten confirmed impacts on the facility. The target profile is the decisive factor over the fireball. Iskra claims a nearly full production cycle for semiconductor components: • High-power bipolar and field-effect transistors • Diodes and diode modules • Optocouplers • IGBT modules • Microwave modules • Hybrid microassemblies • LTCC ceramics The building serves a different purpose. Design-to-serial-production chokepoints exist. The same plant feeds components into Kh-59M2/M2A cruise missiles and the Pantsir-S1 air defense system. So the strike degrades both moscovian strike capability and the air defense layer meant to protect strategic sites. The Ukrainian long-range campaign follows this logic. Hit any launcher you like. You hit the electronics base that makes precision weapons and air defense radars possible. When Iskra burns, the Kh-59 production line slows, Pantsir maintenance gets harder, and moscovian air defense coverage thins further. Moscow will label it terrorism. The technical reality is simpler: Ukraine is dismantling the industrial foundation of a war machine that should never have been allowed to rebuild after 2014.
