In a shocking incident rooted in a family feud, a two-month-old sleeping infant's leg was allegedly broken by her own aunt in Narsingdi. The incident took place at the residence of Kawsar Miah in Paikardi village under Madhabdi Police Station in Narsingdi Sadar Upazila. The brutal act came to light on Tuesday (July 14, 2026) after a secretly recorded video of the incident went viral on social media, sparking widespread outrage and agitation among local residents. According to the victim's family, the infant used to cry abnormally ever since her birth. Suspecting that someone might be torturing the child in her absence, the mother, Sayeba Begum, set up a hidden mobile phone to record the room before going to the washroom. The recorded footage later revealed the aunt entering the room and violently twisting the leg of the sleeping infant. Following the child's severe crying, the family rushed her to the hospital, where doctors confirmed the fracture and placed a plaster cast on the leg. While the family is currently preparing to lodge a formal complaint, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Madhabdi Police Station, Md. Kamal Hossain, stated that they have not received any official complaint yet but will take strict legal action as soon as it is filed.
