there are 10x more interesting, 1000x more practical problems
The Navier-Stokes problem is interesting, but isn’t it kind of just academic? Because we know that in reality, fluids aren’t actually continuous, but are composed of discrete bodies (atoms or molecules). So yes while a singularity could arise in the math, it won’t in reality.
