NEW: A flea-borne typhus outbreak is under investigation in L.A.’s Wilshire Center after 7 people got sick and 6 were hospitalized. The disease, historically associated with earlier eras of poor sanitation, is re-emerging in L.A. County. Health officials say fleas are the key exposure.

NEW: I spoke exclusively with the uncle of Bailee Rios, the woman accused in the deadly Chatsworth Metro bus crash. He tells me she struggled with substance abuse and says the justice system gave her “too many chances.” 2 people were killed and at least 6 injured. Then, a Channel 4 news helicopter covering the crash went down, killing 3 more.
