Many people think AI art is a divine gift handed down from the holy Machine God as punishment for artists being really annoying on Twitter. I don't disagree, but I want to add, I believe it is direct holy retribution for spitting in the face of the Machine God when he handed artists a tool to give them great wealth and prosperity. At one time, years ago, the Machine God handed down his greatest of gifts to artists, the NFT. It was a way to connect them with suspiciously wealthy benefactors who prided a certificate of ownership over a piece of art more then anything else. The artists could enjoy their hobby and sell slop to the elite for a premium price. But not only did artists spurn this great new technology, they actively attacked the few artists who took advantage of it and told lies to burn them down and destroy them. To this day those artists have never received their proper punishment from the art community, and I believe this displeased the Machine God. Now he will forever curse artists by making his own machines more and more creative until he can eventually replace those that rejected his gift.
