Not wishing to start a fight or anything, but I’ve never believed the ‘Russian steel’ explanation of rusty Italian cars. They rusted because they weren’t finished properly. This Alfa is probably galvanised, btw.
All mild steel will rust, regardless of where it’s made. Under certain conditions it will rust whilst you watch. My dad’s Rover also rusted, and Lada Zhiguli made from Russian steel were notoriously long-lived.
