Well it sounds like NATO isn't fucking around.
Putin is trying to test NATO's resolve and NATO jets had acted in defense in a perceived threat.
Fighters were scrambled in both Latvia and Poland earlier, with Poland citing Russian strikes in Ukraine for the measure. Per a subsequent release from Latvia, fighters with NATO’s Baltic Air Policing framework were scrambled to mitigate any possible air threats to the nation.
