On September 5, 1774, delegates from 12 colonies met at Carpenters’ Hall in Philadelphia for the First Continental Congress. They gathered to oppose British tyranny, defend shared principles like life, liberty, and property, and coordinate colonial resistance. The First Continental Congress helped unite the colonies by rallying public support and strengthening cooperation. After disbanding on October 26, 1774, delegates agreed to meet again on May 10, 1775, for the Second Continental Congress. Photo courtesy of #Freedom250#
