This afternoon, at the White House, Trump hosted a life guard, 16-year-old lifeguard, who saved 10-year-old Nathaniel Rai, looking to get a little good PR with a feel-good event to honor a real hero. Of course, he then immediately ruined it by telling the kid he wouldn’t have saved him. “I don’t know if I’d do it,” the president said. “I wouldn’t, probably. You’re lucky I wasn’t on the service that day.” Ironically, it is a rare moment of honesty for a man who lies with every other word. Trump would absolutely have let the kid drown, because he’s a sociopath. If any other president had said this, the media would go wild. Here is the President of the United States bragging about how he’s a coward who wouldn’t help someone in need, showing a shocking lack of basic moral fiber while also reminding everyone that his “family values” ideals are nothing but opportunistic bullshit. But because it’s Trump, it’ll be forgotten in an instant, as he promptly threw a tantrum and yelled at a reporter that the troops were lying about the bad food his administration is giving them.
