The Old Tailor
An old tailor in Ghana was sewing a school uniform.
His customer asked:
How much?
The tailor looked at the boy beside him.
Nothing.
The father was confused.
The tailor said:
I used to sew uniforms for his father. His father couldn't pay me either.
He smiled.
He came back years later and paid the debt.
Goodness sometimes takes years to return.
THE SCHOOL FEES
A boy came home and told his mother:
"Teacher said I'm the only one in class who hasn't paid."
His mother smiled and said, "Don't worry."
After he went to bed, she sat alone at the table.
She counted the money three times.
It wasn't enough.
The next morning, she sold the only gold necklace her husband had ever given her.
Her son never knew.
Years later, he found out.
He asked why she never told him.
She replied:
You were a child. You were supposed to worry about school, not money.
What did your parents hide from you to protect your childhood?
