Sony CEO Hiroki Totoki says the company no longer needs to aggressively push PS5 hardware sales as the console enters the latter half of its lifecycle.
Rather than just trying to sell as many consoles as possible, Sony wants to make more money from the players already on PlayStation.
With around 125 million monthly active users, the focus is now on recurring revenue and getting more value from each customer over time.
It’s less about “sell more PS5s” and more about “make more from the players we already have.”
