META ADVANCES AI CHIP STRATEGY $META plans to begin production of its in-house AI chip, “Iris,” in September as part of a push to double computing capacity to 14 gigawatts in 2027. THINKING MACHINES UNVEILS OPEN AI MODEL Thinking Machines Lab, led by former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati, launched its first open-weight AI model, Inkling, targeting enterprise customization over one-size-fits-all AI.
