Statement Regarding the $SHDX Incident and the SafuSkill Growth Fund
Recently, there has been significant discussion within the community regarding $SHDX and the SafuSkill Growth Fund. In response to the concerns raised, we would like to provide clarification on the relevant facts, the Growth Fund mechanism, and the improvements we plan to make going forward.
1. About the Growth Fund
The Growth Fund was not created specifically for the $SHDX project.
Before the first incentive distribution, SafuSkill and Fourmeme had already jointly established and publicly announced the Growth Fund.
The purpose of the fund is simple: to support outstanding developers and community-driven projects, helping valuable assets gain visibility, users, and growth opportunities.
Regarding the $SHDX project, we would like to clarify the following facts:
- The decision to support the project was made before the AMA;
- The AMA was only used to publicly announce a decision that had already been made;
- The project team was not informed in advance that the Growth Fund would purchase the asset;
- The Growth Fund is jointly managed and governed by SafuSkill and Fourmeme;
- As of today, the Growth Fund has not conducted any sell transactions.
These are objective facts.
2. Review and Improvements
Through our internal review, we recognized that while the intention behind the Growth Fund remains valid, the mechanism itself has room for improvement.
The core issue is not which project was supported, but rather that the evaluation criteria, decision-making process, and information disclosure were not transparent enough, and community participation was insufficient.
Moving forward, the mission of the Growth Fund will remain unchanged. However, we will further improve evaluation standards, increase transparency, and introduce broader community participation mechanisms.
3. On-Chain Investigation
Following the incident, we immediately engaged the GoPlus Security team to conduct an on-chain investigation.
We are analyzing all relevant selling addresses and associated wallets, using complete on-chain data to reconstruct and describe the event. The related findings and supporting data will be attached after this statement.
4. Reflections from This Incident
How should Code is Asset projects be launched and valued?**
The value of a Skill-based asset comes from a developer’s ability to continuously create value, not merely from short-term market sentiment.
However, the launch and trading mechanisms widely used across the industry today were primarily designed around Memecoins.
As more developers leverage AI to build products and create value, we believe that Code is Asset requires a more suitable issuance mechanism and value discovery framework.
SafuSkill will continue exploring new models that better align with developer growth, product iteration, and community development.
5. Why We Continue Building SafuSkill
We are witnessing a growing number of developers using AI to create products and generate value.
Over the next few years, developer creativity is expected to expand dramatically. If decentralized asset issuance can be effectively connected with developers, Web3 has an opportunity to return to a positive cycle where technological innovation drives value creation.
This has always been the vision behind SafuSkill.
We appreciate the feedback, criticism, and suggestions from the community. We will move quickly to improve our products, refine our mechanisms, and address the issues identified through this process.
