Smart contracts can encode escrow, delayed settlement, chargebacks, dispute resolution, spending controls, recovery mechanisms. Whatever the business case requires.
People confuse today’s stablecoin products with what’s possible. Most payment companies use stablecoins as a settlement rail while keeping the actual business logic offchain.
Over time, more of that logic will move onchain. Stitching together APIs for wallets, cards and orchestration only gets you so far.
