Why didn't any tenured professors have the courage to expose Jason Arday? Why did it fall to a courageous untenured academic named Nathan Cofnas to go public?
A number of people have argued that it is a culture of faculty cowardice, rather than the collapse of the tenure system, that is the real problem leading to endemic academic groupthink. My response to that is: why not both?
