Syria's been like this forever, it's not some overnight transformation. There's religious folks and liberal folks here...
kinda like how Jews have the strict bearded orthodox crowd and the liberal crowd...
Meanwhile Europeans hear Jordan, Palestine, Egypt, Lebanon and assume it's Sharia law central with women locked indoors... not every country is Afghanistan.
