This is probably the most engaging LinkedIn profile I have read! :) Most people update their LinkedIn profile once, and then tend to it piecemeal: add the relevant details of the last job when they move, tweak a line here, add something there, and move on. Of course, there's no 'right' or 'wrong' way - it's whatever works for you. This one feels very different, though. It feels like Chandan sat down one fine day, looked at his entire career holistically, and decided to tell a larger story rather than document a series of jobs. How do I guess that? Look at the note under his Marketing & Training role at Futures First: "Hired one person during this stint who I will be working for in a few years". Then go to his Classplus role: "The guy I hired in 2012 now hires me and gives me my first CXO role". That's not how you normally write a LinkedIn profile. That's someone connecting dots across a career. And the whole thing reads like Chandan is having a conversation with a reader who cares enough to go through it all. There is humor, vulnerability, luck, failure, ambition and coincidence. The less glamorous stretches (the 10-month career break, the Global Sales Headโ€“Dining role at Zomato that he describes as a "dull period", etc.) are almost as interesting as the highs: working with Hrithik, Katrina and others, getting the Zomato role, building new businesses, becoming a CXO. That's what makes the profile really interesting. It isn't really a rรฉsumรฉ. It's a career narrative. This is the kind of profile that rewards exploration. On a normal LinkedIn profile, reading older roles is mostly archaeology. Here, reading about older roles gives you new context for newer ones. The reader discovers the callback between Futures First and Classplus. That's almost a narrative device. I genuinely don't think I've seen another LinkedIn profile quite like this. #linkedin# #creativity#

Recent acquisition via Amazon. I had no idea Vicco started making soaps! Seems they started only early this year and their web page still has Lorem Ipsum ๐Ÿคญ That 'camphor' variant seems very promising ๐Ÿคž The packing is really good, the kind I usually associate with ITC/Fiama range.

This is very, very interesting! A journalist in the US, who could afford a 'better' school, admitted her daughter into a 'high-poverty school', a decade ago! The daughter has a different perspective on her mother's decision. I recall reading about an AAP MLA doing something similar - admitting his children in government schools as a matter of principle. Questions: 1. I wonder if there is any BJP politician who has done something similar. 2. Could there be a law stating that every minister, elected representative and senior government official must either enrol their school-going children in a government school or publicly disclose why they have chosen not to?

"Something has unsettled Delhi's political certainty. The Gen Z mobilisation, battle over Election Commission and combative Opposition changed the atmosphere"
This is UTTERLY fascinating!! British East India Company housewife (Sophia Plowden) becomes sufficiently obsessed with a Lucknow courtesan's (Khanum Jan) music that she learns to play it herself on her harpsichord, writes it down, helps turn it into sheet music, and inadvertently helps launch an Indo-European musical fashion! The social inversion/dynamics of Sophia being the student and Khanum being the cultural expert is extraordinary. The whole thing reads like a Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie script!!

"ECI's explanation sidesteps the question of why the high functionaries of a constitutional body felt it necessary to consult the Cabinet Secretary, to whom they do not report, but not the President, to whom they do. This sort of prevarication leaves open the charge that the ECI under Gyanesh Kumar has surrendered its autonomy to the Prime Minister's bureaucracy and acts at his behest and in his interest."

Best would be to dump all these books together and burn them on Holika Dahan (Choti Holi) next year. If Modi can position that as a positive thing for India, in the name of Lord Ram and in the name of soldiers who guard our borders, we Indians may even queue up (we do love queues when Modi asks us to stand in them - demonetization, SIR, etc.) to donate more books to burn.

Whoa, the man is still around, selling something else now!

What a brilliant ad!! Take a bow, Ogilvy! The brief of straight-forward - to celebrate a milestone of a mighty famous brand. But observe how the script approaches that brief! It starts by wanting to thank the users, but does so in an obtuse method so that there is a progressively building mystery towards making us wonder what is happening and why, with that unusual set-up and announcement! The voice-over cheekily explains the purpose and lands the final reveal! Wonderfully inventive, and very Ogilvy!
