We meet with a lot of websites looking to add AI to their search and/or website, and one of the most common questions we see product teams debating is = "Should we replace our search with a turn based assistant?" "Or should we have both a search box and an assistant in the bottom right?" Short answer to both is "no". Our view on how websites will evolve is clear: 1) Every product should only have one natural language entry point 2) Instead of replacing search (which is the fastest way for people who know what they want to find it), you should upgrade search to support natural language queries. And the way to do that is by adding AI Autocomplete as an intent layer What NOT to do if you have an app or website: 1) Don't replace fast search, with a slow turn based assistant – while an assistant feels sexy to do, this is only ideal for a small set of questions (vs. an upgraded search experience). If you go this route, your metrics will take a big hit. 2) Don't assume that everyone wants to ask long questions – Most people roughly know what they want, and the key is allowing them to say it easily and articulate the intent that they currently have, rather than forcing them into a conversation.

Imagine if you could type natural language of anything into @depop search, and the first result was exactly what you wanted... This the future of search. Instead of having to search and then scroll or filter afterwards, just type with natural language and get exactly what you want.
