Rocket Lab CEO @Peter_J_Beck is sending the first private mission to Venus to search for life off Earth.
"That's one of the biggest questions as a human species that we can answer. Are we the only ones in the universe or not?"
Why Venus?
He says it's because Venus has a unique cloud layer about 50km in, that in theory, could support some kind of life:
"There's been traces of phosphine gas found in there. Phosphine gas only comes from organic symbiosis. So the mission is to go there and actually see if we can detect life."
