HAPPENING NOW: Seattle PD’s SWAT team is inside the Downtown Emergency Service Center’s Hobson Place in South Seattle. A resident of this notorious DESC permanent supportive housing facility off Rainier Ave S. allegedly strangled his girlfriend Saturday evening. The suspect has barricaded himself inside a room and is a repeat offender with a lengthy rap sheet. The standoff has been going on for several hours at this taxpayer funded apartment complex. Hobson Place and other Housing First facilities continue to trigger the most 911 calls in the city and remain a massive drain on taxpayer resources. DESC residents regularly smoke fentanyl behind closed doors and are also blamed for other disturbances in the area.
