Maye Musk is a professional dietitian who spent more than 40 years seeing patients, often five days a week. Dietetics was her main career, while modeling was something she did on the side. But after her son Elon became super famous, things started to change. Some people began booking appointments with Maye, not mainly to talk about nutrition, but to talk about Elon and bring gifts for him. Maye explained: “Elon became so famous, people would book appointments with me and then they would bring gifts for Elon, and wanted to talk about him for the hour because they paid for the hour and I would say take your money back and take that gift, and they would be upset about that because they would chosen a lovely gift for him” Then she added: “When you are becoming well known, its actually unsafe to accept gifts” Eventually, it became too much, and Maye decided to stop seeing patients in her private dietetics practice. She later moved into teaching public health, while her modeling career continued to grow.
