🇬🇧 🇳🇴 A Message from King Charles III following the death of King Harald V: « It is with the most profound sadness that my wife and I have learned of the death of my dear cousin, King Harald V of Norway.  For thirty-five years, King Harald served his people with unwavering dedication, guiding Norway through times of great change with warmth and humility. As Norway mourns the loss of so towering a figure, my whole family join in remembering a much-loved kinsman and friend whose kindness, compassion and deep sense of duty echoed from across the sea and across the decades.   The United Kingdom and Norway share particularly close historical and family ties, with Britain one of the first countries to recognise Norwegian independence and establish diplomatic relations in 1905. These special bonds were even further strengthened during the dreadful trials of the Second World War and help to bind our two countries together.   The Queen and I extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Queen Sonja and all her family, as Britain shares in Norway’s grief at this time of such heartbreaking loss. » Charles R.

A lively welcome to Belfast! 🎶🪕 Kicking off their annual visit to Northern Ireland, The King and Queen joined a showcase of music and culture at Thompson Dock in Belfast.   Founded in 1951, The Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann is widely regarded as the world’s largest annual festival of traditional Irish music, song and dance. This August, the Fleadh will come to Belfast for the first time.   🥃 The King and Queen also heard about Titanic Distillers’s whisky-making process. The distillery is housed within the restored Edwardian pumphouse that helped launch the famous ship.

🇩🇰 Queen Margrethe has been discharged from Rigshospitalet today & is returning to Fredensborg Palace. Queen Margrethe also wishes to thank you for the many kind thoughts & greetings that have been sent to Her Majesty.

Unveiling @The_RHS and The @KingsFdn Curious Garden at #RHSChelsea#! 🌸 At the RHS Chelsea Flower Show this evening, The King and Queen joined the team who brought the garden to life, including Sir David Beckham, Frances Tophill and Alan Titchmarsh. 🪴 The Curious Garden celebrates the vital impact plants make to people, places and planet, encouraging everyone to get curious about nature and gardening. After the show, the garden will be transferred to a college to help inspire young people to get into horticulture 🌱

🇳🇴 HRH Princess Ingrid Alexandra received Jannicke Mikkelsen, the first Norwegian woman in space. Mikkelsen shared her experiences from the Fram2 Space Expedition, which earlier this year carried out the very first manned space mission in polar orbit. During the audience, she presented a Norwegian flag that has been part of the journey 56 times around the Earth, over both the North Pole & the South Pole.
