Ok last time I’ll talk about this (probably not) If you take any sort of objective look at the memecoin landscape, or watch any of the @coffeebreak_YT videos where people literally admit to having multiple computers ready the second a coin launches so they can snipe it and dump on everyone else, it’s hard to come away thinking this was ever a healthy industry My view is the main reason it was able to grow to the size it did was the completely backwards incentives created during operation choke point 2.0. Gensler’s SEC sent wells notices and enforcement threats to legitimate companies trying to build positive sum use cases, while ignoring huge amounts of obvious predatory behavior happening in plain sight When regulators punish people trying to build legitimate products while failing to police actual fraud and manipulation, you shouldn’t be surprised when the industry shifts toward the latter I think this set crypto back years, and we’re still dealing with the effects But we also have agency here. We can actively fight against it by refusing to participate in and normalize negative sum use cases, and instead build and support things that are actually useful /endrant
