The tools software engineers take for granted don't exist in hardware yet. Software agents loop in seconds. Hardware feedback loops can cost millions and happen once a day, or maybe only once ever.
Before AI can help hardware engineers, we need better data infrastructure. That mostly doesn't exist yet.
