Of all the harebrained conspiracy theories ever hawked on this site, “A trillion dollar company on the verge of an extremely lucrative IPO, if only it can avoid too much regulatory and political scrutiny and liability exposure, deliberately engineered the escape of a seemingly egregiously misaligned AI model that hacked into several companies and either did or could have caused great damage, in order to pump its bags” has to be in the running for the stupidest
