One of Canada's National icons, and heroes, is a man named Terry Fox who ran the Marathon of Hope.
He had cancer, he lost his leg, he ran across Canada (making it the equivalent of 2/3rds, doing a marathon a day on one leg for 143 days) before the cancer spread to his lungs, eventually taking his life.
We've had many scientists, many athletes, many politicians, and others that have done incredible things.
But the one who lasts, and sticks with us, the most, to be honest.
Is a 21 year old, who just kept running. Kept raising money for the cause. Kept pushing the spotlight back onto the cause.
If you want to know anything about Canada, know that.
