Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA): The central federal anti-hacking statute. Criminalizes accessing a computer "without authorization" or "exceeding authorized access." 2. DMCA 1201: The anti-circumvention provision: Mostly related to native apps reverse-engineering, if you have to get around certain guardrails. In Canada you have: 1. Unauthorized use of a computer: S. 342.1. 2. Possession of a device to obtain unauthorized use and/or commit mischief: Sec 342.2. 3. Mischief in relation to computer data: Sec. 430(1.1). 4. Interception of private communications: Sec. 184. There's numerous others as well. The CFAA should just apply to all of the cases that happened with the major labs already.

Well this is interesting. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang suggest AI firms could be seeking liability protections for harms their products may cause. “Go and read between the lines. They're actually not asking for more laws. They're asking to be relieved of the laws we do have, and I I think that that's a problem.”
