it is actually a bad product, not because of implementation but the idea.
due to rise of ai and bad market conditions, recruiters get 500+ applications every hour. you can check this stat with a linkedin premium or ask recruiter friends.
what's happening is that people are building similar products using ai. what used to be a cumbersome process of:
building a resume -> writing a cover letter -> finding a job on linkedin -> dming team members and founders for referral -> creating account on workday -> applying
this whole process would take users 10mins per applications. now it is automated by ai and can be done in less than a min for more than 50 jobs.
this puts pressure on recruiters to go thru so many resumes. ultimately, recruiters, now, rely on close friends/sources/their own due diligence to hire than to go thru their hiring portal.
ofcourse, they use ai to filter out applicants and give top 10% but even that messes up and some deserving candidate can be missed.
i remember pre-ai, i applied for almost 800+ jobs, kept a google sheet of "jobs applied to" and a sheet of "active interviews"
i would spend 4 hours applying to 50-100 jobs, create insane number of workday accounts (which is shit btw, i hate workday from the bottom of my heart), but this kept me grounded and i figured the best way to approach recruiters, founders and companies.
i really believe that if you do things on your own, nothing is wasted and you get to learn a few things vs relying on ai.
btw, this product might be great but you can achieve similar things using claude alone. :))
