According to Lvova-Belova, after the ICC issued a warrant for her arrest, unknown individuals supposedly tried several times to organize her abduction in different regions of Russia. She was later given personal security. “They need me alive. The idea is to capture me so I testify against the president. They don’t have any evidence,” Lvova-Belova said. It remains unclear who allegedly planned to kidnap her. In March 2023, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Lvova-Belova and Putin. They are suspected of the war crime of unlawfully deporting and transferring Ukrainian children from occupied territories to Russia.
